In many East Asian faces, a flat or slightly sunken forehead, a dip above the brows or a visible step at the temple line is common. A gently rounded forehead reflects light evenly; a flat one casts shadows that can read as tired. Forehead filler restores that curve, and in doing so can soften static lines, the creases that remain when the face is at rest.
It is not a treatment for lines that appear only when you raise your brows. Those come from muscle movement, and are covered on our forehead and frown lines page.
Every treatment at Atelier Aesthetics is personally performed or directed by Dr. Sin Yong — Medical Director, MBBS (NUS), MRCS (Edinburgh), MSc Aesthetic Medicine (University of London), MSc Practical Dermatology (Cardiff University), and International Key Opinion Leader for CLASSYS, HIRONIC, DEKA, ALMA, FOTONA and LUTRONIC.
Consultations are individual and thorough — Dr. Sin Yong assesses your specific concerns, anatomy and goals, and designs a personalised treatment plan. No standard protocols, no delegation to nurses or therapists.

In Depth
The forehead is an area where planning matters a great deal. The arteries that supply it, the supratrochlear and supraorbital arteries, rise from the vessels around the eye, and published reviews of filler-related vision loss list the forehead and glabella, the area between the brows, among the sites where it has been reported. [1,2] That is why forehead filler at Atelier is placed in a deep plane, with a blunt cannula, slowly and in small amounts.
The product is a soft hyaluronic acid filler, chosen because it spreads smoothly under thin forehead skin and because it can be dissolved if needed. It is placed deep, beneath the muscle layer, where it can be moulded into an even curve.
Ageing here is partly bone and fat: the brow and forehead lose some projection and the fat over the forehead thins. [3] Filler can restore the shape. It does not stop the muscle movement behind dynamic lines, which is why some people combine both approaches.

| Concern | Cause | Usual approach |
|---|---|---|
| Flat or sunken forehead | Shape and volume | Forehead filler |
| Lines only when raising the brows | Muscle movement | Muscle-relaxing injections |
| Lines visible at rest | Etched creases plus flatness | Filler for shape, sometimes with muscle-relaxing injections |
| Hollow temples beside the forehead | Volume loss at the temple | Assessed together with the forehead |
| Heavy, low brows | Skin and tissue laxity | Lifting treatments; filler can make heaviness worse |
A forehead reads as smooth when it curves evenly. The aim is shape, not volume.

Warning signs. Seek help immediately if you notice any change in vision, skin on the forehead or nose turning pale, grey, blue or blotchy, or pain that is increasing rather than settling. Call the clinic, or go to an emergency department if you cannot reach us.
