Non-Surgical Chin Augmentation · V-Shape Face · Jawline Definition
Chin filler can change facial proportion noticeably without surgery — advancing chin projection, defining the jawline and creating the tapered V-shape silhouette. Placed with architectural precision at Atelier Aesthetics.
Why Chin Projection Matters
Chin filler in Singapore is often the change a profile needs, and one patients rarely ask for.
The chin is the lower anchor of facial proportion. Chin projection filler placed at the pogonion advances the chin point forward — improving the side profile and strengthening the facial silhouette from every angle. When the chin is recessive, even well-placed features above it appear out of proportion.
A correctly projected chin also improves the cervicomental angle — the transition from neck to jaw — which has a significant effect on the appearance of a double chin and the overall neck-to-face proportion. Where the chin is recessive, projecting it is often part of improving this area, alongside or before any fat treatment.
On the frontal view, chin filler lengthens the lower third of the face and creates the tapered, V-shaped lower face that defines a refined facial silhouette. The result is immediate, requires no surgery or anaesthesia, and, with hyaluronic acid filler, is reversible with hyaluronidase if needed.
A recessive chin makes the nose read as larger and the jawline as softer. Neither is the actual problem.
The Protocol
In Depth
Product choice at the chin follows its job. The chin is a load-bearing point that has to hold shape against muscle movement, so firmer products are used: a high-G-prime hyaluronic acid filler, which can be dissolved, or a collagen-stimulating filler such as calcium hydroxylapatite or polycaprolactone, which holds structure well but cannot be dissolved. Which suits you is discussed at consultation, including that trade-off.
Placement is deep, on bone, at the chin point and lower border, with small amounts built up and checked from the side. As with any filler, a blocked blood vessel is possible; product is placed slowly, away from the usual paths of the arteries to the lip and chin, with hyaluronidase and a complication plan on hand. [1]
Where the chin sits far back because of the jaw itself, filler has limits: a large deficit needs too much product to look natural, and a surgical implant or genioplasty may be the better plan. And some people asking for a V-shape need chin projection, while others have strong jaw muscles, which is a different treatment — see our masseter guide.

| Concern | Often due to | Usual approach |
|---|---|---|
| Chin sits back in profile | A short or recessive chin | Chin filler |
| Square, wide lower face | Strong masseter muscles | Masseter injections |
| Fullness under the chin | Fat, laxity or a short chin | Assessment first; see double chin treatment |
| Soft, sagging jawline | Laxity and descent | Lifting treatments |
| Very recessive chin with bite problems | Jaw position | Surgical opinion |
The goal is balance from the side view, not the most projection the product allows.

Warning signs. Contact the clinic urgently if the skin of the chin or lower lip turns pale, grey or blotchy, or if pain increases rather than settles.
