Pillow Face Correction

Overfilled faces are correctable. The process is slower and more considered than the treatment that caused the problem.

1. Overfilling is usually accumulation rather than one session

Each treatment is judged against the current face rather than the original. Over several years this ratchets volume upward without any single decision to do so.

2. Selective dissolution is preferable to clearing everything

Hyaluronidase can be targeted to the compartments contributing most to the unnatural appearance while preserving volume that is doing useful work.

3. The face looks worse before it looks right

Enzyme treatment causes its own swelling, and the settled result is not apparent for around two weeks. Judging the outcome early leads to unnecessary further intervention.

4. Non-hyaluronic products cannot be dissolved

Poly-caprolactone and poly-L-lactic acid preparations are not reversible. Their correction is a matter of time and, occasionally, surgical management.
